UKGrantmaking

360Giving commissioned up to build the UKGrantmaking platform.
Its structure – sitting somewhere between being a website, an online report and a collection of dataviz embeds – gave us an interesting challenge in terms of UX. In the end we agreed that the main navigation should happen via an ever-present sidebar, with each page’s subsections showing as subitems. This lends UKGrantmaking a linear feel, but with a user journey that can be easily overridden.
We tried to make the Flourish embeds as native feeling as possible, by allowing for direct data source downloads, and complimenting the graphs with our own tables which also allow for source data downloads.
